This call for proposals aims to co-fund transnational and/national projects that contribute to enhancing the rights of persons suspected or accused of crime, in line with the specific objective to facilitate effective access to justice for all.

Priorities and funded actions:

Objective
– To complement the efforts of the EU in the area of the rights of suspected and accused

Priorities
– To contribute to the correct implementation of the Directive 2010/64 on the right to interpretation and translation in criminal proceedings
– To contribute to the correct implementation of the Directive 2012/13 on the right to information in criminal proceedings
– To contribute to the correct implementation of the Directive 2013/48 on the right of access to a lawyer in criminal proceedings
– Further improving procedural rights of defendants
– To reduce pre-trial detention

– Data collection, surveys and research activities
– Mutual learning, exchange of good practices, cooperation, including identifying best practices which may be transferable to other participating countries
