“Clean air – it’s your move!”

This campaign aims to aware citizens about the impact of transport on the quality of the ambient air and encourage them to improve their health and well-being by changing their daily habits in term of mobility.
Urban traffic is a growing source of air pollution. With the slogan “Clean Air – It’s your move,” European Mobility Week insists that even minor changes (public transport, using bike, etc), can improve the quality of life in European cities. It is up to local authorities to develop urban transport strategies that meet the demand for mobility, protect the environment and improve air quality.

2158 cities representing 147.6 million citizens participated in this campaign. A total of 7717 permanent measures have been implemented, focusing on infrastructure for cycling and walking, improve of transport accessibility and awareness of sustainable behaviors transport.
European local authorities are encouraged to join the European Mobility Week Charter and publish their programs on http://www.mobilityweek.eu/.
Cities that are planning an entire week of events, adopting permanent measures and introducing a car-free day may also be candidates for the prize of the European Mobility Week and join the ranks of previous winners cities: Zagreb, Bologna, Gävle and Budapest.
