€20 million of loans for Greek companies

The European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI) is one of the pillars of the Investment Plan for Europe. It aims at helping to overcome the current investment gap in the EU and at encouraging investments in strategic projects around Europe.

The European Investment Fund (EIF) and ProCredit have signed the first EFSI deal in Greece. This agreement will increase lending to Greek innovative and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small mid-caps. In fact, with this new agreement, ProCredit will be able to provide €20 million of loans to innovative companies in Greece over the next two years.The loans will be supported under the “EU InnovFin finance for Innovators”. This initiative is managed by the EIF and provides guarantees to improve access to loan finance for innovative SMEs and small midcaps.
