The European Commission has released funds from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund to support workers made redundant as a direct result of the global financial and economic crisis.

Text:

The European Commission has proposed to mobilise €2.3 million from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) to help 550 workers made redundant in the publishing sector in Attica (Greece).

This subvention will contribute to the tune of 60% to a professional reintegration plan for the former workers of a sector that has been severely impacted by the global financial and economic crisis. The implementation of this plan will allow them to benefit from occupational guidance, trainings or contributions to business start-up in order to prepare them for new jobs.
