1.2 billion increase in ERDF funding for Spain

The Commission has modified nine additional Operational Programmes related to Cohesion Policy in Spain, totalling € 1.2 billion under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

As part of this comprehensive approach to recovery, funds will be reallocated to strengthen the responsiveness of the Spanish healthcare system by increasing hospital beds and purchasing pharmaceutical and laboratory equipment, as well as medical and protective equipment. In addition, support for SMEs will help stimulate the economic sector. Finally, EU funds will be redirected to develop ICT in the education and training sectors.
