The third edition of Assises, an essential moment of political dialogue between the European institutions and local and regional authorities, will aim at fully involving the latter in development policy and at contributing towards a genuine partnership between various actors active in the field of development cooperation. It will also be an excellent opportunity for a debate between different levels of authority on how to increase the effectiveness of development aid and facilitate exchanges among and with local and regional authorities.
The Assises will be organised around an opening session, five round tables and a plenary session. The round tables will gather a representative of the European Commission, a representative of the European Parliament and representatives of local and regional authorities from the EU and partner countries.
