Allocation of 720 000 euro aid to help employees in Spain

The European Parliament has approved 720 000 euro in aid from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) for the 303 redundant workers to help them find a job.

Spanish companies suffered from the increase in imports of textiles and clothing, which led to a drop in prices. As a result, five manufacturers in the Galician region had to dismiss their employees. The EU has therefore decided through the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) to help these people. The aid allocation covers six types of measures: preparatory workshops, vocational guidance, occupational guidance, training, job-search assistance, tutoring after reintegration into work and monetary incentives.
