Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To promote cross-border cooperation between Member States in the field of planning, development and the cost-effective exploitation of renewable energy sources;
  • To facilitate the Member States’ integration through energy storage facilities;
  • To contribute to the Union’s long term decarbonisation strategy;
  • To complete the internal energy market and enhance the security of supply;
  • To assist project promoters in selecting the best project concept and to set up the cooperation agreement.

Priorities

  • Supporting both EU Member States and private project promoters in order to:
    • advance cooperation ideas,
    • create momentum amongst involved skateholders,
    • generate a pipeline of cross-border renewable projects.

Among financed actions

  • Pre-feasability study;
  • Technical, economic or legal support in setting up or advancing cross-border cooperation;
  • Exploring the possible sites in the territory of Member States (or third countries) in order to determine the hosting and participating countries;
  • Investigation of the best form of support, such as the auctionning and tendering set-up.

Additional information

  • This call for proposals is an open call for proposals.
  • Initial duration of the action: 24 months.

Eligibility

  • Be legal entities (public or private);
  • Be established in one of the eligible countries.
Financement
  • Amount of the grant: 1 million euro.
  • Co-financing rate: up to 50% of the total eligible costs.
