LIFE – Strategic Nature Projects – 2021

Funds for: prioritising Action Frameworks (PAF) and/or other plans or strategies adopted at international, national, multiregional or regional level by nature and biodiversity authorities, that implement EU nature and/or biodiversity policy or legislation

Priorities and funded actions:


  • To catalyse full implementation of the PAF and/or other eligible plan(s)/strategy(ies)/action plan(s) as per the one listed in “objectives”;
  • To contribute to the favourable conservation status of natural habitats and species of EU importance maintained and/or restored as per measures identified in PAF;
  • To contribute to the reduction of pressures on habitats and species and restored degraded ecosystems as per measures identified in other than PAF targeted plan(s)/strategy(ies)/action plan(s).

Among financed actions:

  • Development, testing, demonstration and application of conservation methods and practices

Additional information:

This call for proposals is an open call for proposals

Initial duration of the project: between 60 and 120 months


  • Be a legal entity established in one of the EU Member States or a country associated to the LIFE programme;
  • Proposals must be submitted by minimum 2 applicants;
  • Proposals must relate to activities taking place in the eligible countries.
