What is at stake?
SMEs are the backbone of Europe’s economy – they represent 99% of all firms and contribute to almost 60% of GDP and around 70% of the total EU workforce. SMEs and entrepreneurs are crucial for fostering growth, for creating quality jobs and for improved social integration. Supporting SMEs and helping them to enhance their competitiveness is one of the main objectives of EU Cohesion Policy. In the 2014-2020 programming period, Cohesion Policy will further strengthen this support and will become a key lever to facilitate access to finance for SMEs and to promote their presence in international markets.
Progamme
During the seminar prominent keynote speakers and international experts will discuss how public policies can provide the best support to SMEs and entrepreneurs (day 1) and how to facilitate access to finance (day 2). In order to ensure a participative and interactive discussion, the seminar will combine presentations, roundtables and exchanges of best practices.
