Covid-19: 37 billion euros for Europe’s outermost regions

In the context of the health crisis linked to Covid-19, the European Parliament voted a 37 billion euro envelope of support for the Structural Funds for the outermost regions (ORs). The French outermost regions, which are among the most fragile in this crisis, should benefit from the aid.

Two weeks ago, the European Parliament voted on a 37 billion euro package of “structural fund aid for the ORs”, according to Younous Omarjee. The France Insoumise MEP sees this as a major opportunity for the overseas departments and territories, these are the poorest regions of Europe, even though France is the second largest power in the European Union.

The strong pre-eminence of Very Small Enterprises in Europe’s Outermost Regions, which are currently suffering, should encourage France to fight for them, prompts Younous Omarjee, with support from their treasury.
