InvestEU should be a single fund supporting European investors by integrating and simplifying the financing offered under a single budgetary guarantee system.
On Wednesday evening, Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee MEPs adopted, by 71 votes in favour, 17 against and 7 abstentions, the new EU programme to support investment and access to finance by addressing market failures, sub-optimal investment and the investment gap in targeted sectors, for the period 2021-2027.
The Parliament will vote on its mandate to start negotiations with EU governments during the November session.
