LIFE – 243 million euro for the environment, nature and climate action

The European Union has allocated 243 million euro to LIFE Environment and Climate Action Programme.

The European Union has allocated 243 million euro to LIFE Environment and Climate Action Programme.

This envelope will be divided into two parts, each one will receive its own funding.

The first component, which has a “sub-envelope” of 196.2 million euros, will be dedicated to projects in the fields of the environment, rational use of resources, nature, biodiversity and environmental awareness. For example, this strand will focus on projects that will allow a high degree of reuse of plastics according to the objectives of the European strategy on plastics in a circular economy.

The second component, which has a “sub-envelope” of €46.8 million, will be dedicated to projects related to climate change, governance and information. For example, the Union will help the Member States to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by at least 40% by 2030.
