On January 26, 2022, the European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that France would soon receive its first paiement, up to 7.4 billion euro, as part of the European recovery plan NextGenerationEU.
At the press conference, the President underlined the efforts and progress France had made to improve unemployment insurance system, putting public finances on a sound footing, accelerating the energy transition, increasing youth employment through apprenticeships.
In total, France will receive 40 billion euro in the frame of NextGenerationEU.
