Priorities and funded actions
The central objective of this programme is to make sure products on the market are safe and consumers know the rules, on top of helping national authorities to work efficiently together and communicate swiftly.
Objectives:
- Make sure that products on the market are safe;
- Empower, educate and assist consumers to make sustainable and informed choices;
- Ensure that all consumers have access to redress mechanisms;
- Protect vulnerable consumers in order to enhance fairness and transparency in the internal market;
- Support competent enforcement authorities and consumer organisations.
Priorities:
- With regard to consumers:

- Empowering, assisting and educating consumers, business and civil society representatives, in particular on consumer rights under the Directive empowering, assisting and educating consumers, in particular with regard to consumer rights under under EU law;
- Ensuring a high level of consumer protection, sustainable consumption and product safety, in particular for the most vulnerable consumers and product safety, in particular for the most vulnerable consumers, in order to enhance the fairness, transparency and confidence of the single market and confidence in it;
- Ensuring that due account is taken of consumers’ interests in the digital world;
- Supporting law enforcement authorities and representative consumer organisations and actions that enhance cooperation between competent authorities, with particular emphasis on issues raised by with particular emphasis on issues raised by existing and emerging technologies;
- Helping to improve the quality and availability of standards throughout the EU by effectively combating unfair commercial practices;
- Ensuring that all consumers have access to effective redress mechanisms and that they are provided with appropriate information on markets and consumer rights, as well as promoting sustainable consumption, in particular by raising awareness of the specific characteristics and environmental impacts of goods and services.
- With regard to consumers and other end-users of financial services:
- Strengthening the participation of consumers, other end-users of financial services and representatives of civil society in public decision-making in the field of financial services
