The detail of the use of European funds in the Belgian recovery plan
At the federal level, part of the funds that the federal level of government will use, part will be devoted to public infrastructure. The aim is to make them more efficient and sustainable. The planned investments in infrastructure works amount to almost one billion euros.
The federal level of government will also devote 225 million euros to innovation and research. Part of this will go to nuclear research and applications in the medical sector, such as cancer research.
The digitization of Belgium’s main public services is a priority. The digitization of justice and social security should be accelerated.
On the federal side, almost 50% of the investments that will be made will be devoted to the ecological transition. 20% will be devoted to digitization.
