Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To deploy projects that support investments in challenging areas, where market forces alone will not deliver 5G services with the necessary quality of service

Among financed actions

  • Detailed definition of service requirements along the corridor allowing for business continuity across borders
  • Full network planning including the spectrum bands used
  • A plan to enable uninterrupted service across the cross-border sections funded.
  • Coordination mechanisms to ensure business continuity across the border
  • Cost calculation and a cost-benefit analysis to identify economically viable and non-viable sections of the corridor where CEF-funding of 5G connectivity infrastructure deployment would be needed and justified according to the
    guidance set forth by the Commission in its Work Programme

  • This call for proposals is an open call for proposals
  • Initial duration of the action: 6 months

Eligibility

  • Be legal entities (public or private bodies)
  • Be established in one of the eligible countries
  • Other entities may participate in other consortium roles, such as associated partners, subcontractors, third parties giving in-kind contributions
  • A consortium composed of at least 2 entities, established in at least 2 different EU Member States or associated countries to the programme must be constituted
  • Exceptionally, for 5G corridor projects crossing the border with a third country, or terminating at a port with maritime connections to other EU Member States minimum, a consortium of at least 2 applicants (beneficiaries; not affiliated entities) from at least one eligible country must be constituted
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 28 million euro
  • Total budget of the topic : 3 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: between 300 000 and 1 million euro
  • Co-financing rate: up to 20% of the total eligible costs
