Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To accelerate the development of edge computing solutions as part of 5G corridors and 5G smart communities
  • To accompany CEF-funded 5G deployment projects during their edge node deployment and service platform integration phase in order to adopt the common concepts developed

Priorities

  • Priority 1: interconnection of newly deployed 5G corridor sections and 5G infrastructure for local communities
  • Priority 2: operational service platforms that enable the provision of CAM and commercial 5G connectivity services
  • Priority 3: services of general interest in local communities

Among financed actions

  • Desk research and stakeholder outreach
  • Identification and definition of use cases in the areas of connected and automated mobility and 5G smart communities
  • Proof of concept, tests and pilots in cooperation with selected CEF-funded 5G deployment projects
  • Outreach, engagement and advisory services for 5G Corridors

  • This call for proposals is an open call for proposals
  • Initial duration of the action: up to 36 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be a public or private entity
  • Projects should take into account the results of projects supported by other EU funding programmes
  • Project activities (included subcontracted work) must take place in eligible countries
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 6 million euro
  • Total budget of the topic “Integration of 5G with edge computing and federated cloud facilities”: 2 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: up to 2 million euro
  • Co-financing rate: up to 100% of the total eligible costs
