Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To promote exchanges between citizens of different countries
  • To give citizens the opportunity to discover the cultural diversity of the European Union and to make them aware that European values and cultural heritage constitute the foundation for a common future
  • To guarantee peaceful relations between Europeans and to ensure their active participation at the local level
  • To reinforce mutual understanding and friendship between European citizens
  • To encourage cooperation between municipalities and the exchange of best practices
  • To support good local governance and reinforce the role of local and regional authorities in the European integration process

Priorities

  • Priority 1: promoting awareness and building knowledge of EU citizenship rights
  • Priority 2: promoting awareness and building knowledge of the 30th anniversary of the entry into force of the Maastricht Treaty
  • Priority 3: promoting awareness, building knowledge and sharing best practice on the benefits of diversity, gender equality
  • Priority 4: Bringing citizens together to discuss local actions on the climate and the environment

  • Workshops, seminars, conferences
  • Training activities
  • High visibility events
  • Data gathering and consultation
  • Exchanges and dissemination of good practices among public authorities and civil society organisations
  • Development of communication tools and the use of social media

Additional informations

  • This call for proposals is an open call for proposals
  • Initial duration of the action: between 12 and 24 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person (public or private entity)
  • Be non-profit making towns/municipalities and/or other levels of local authorities or their twinning committees or other non-profit organisations representing local authorities
  • Activities must take place in at least two different eligible programme countries
  • A consortium composed of at least 4 entities, established in at least 4 different eligible countries to the programme which at least 2 EU Member States must be constituted
Financement
  • Total budget of the topic: 6 million euro

This grant is a lump sum grant.
