Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To contribute to the establishment of a civil society network / observatory for sustainable cocoa in Côte d’Ivoire, in connection with European civil society and national sustainable cocoa platforms in EU countries
  • To structure and strengthen the Ivorian civil society working on the issue of sustainable cocoa and its many sub-issues in its communication and advocacy capacities

Priorities

  • Priority 1: Capacity building of Ivorian civil society, including women’s and youth organisations
  • Priority 2: Production of analyses and advocacy
  • Priority 3: Participation in the sectoral dialogue between the State – Civil Society -Private Sector
  • Priority 4: Financing of micro-initiatives
  • Priority 5: Information – Education – Communication

Amoung financed actions 

  • Systematic monitoring, data collection and analysis to improve advocacy
  • Awareness and dissemination campaigns
  • Advocacy and lobbying on sustainable cocoa, decent price for farmers, strengthening accountability and transparency in the sector and fighting against corruption
  • Activities for the institutionalisation of dialogue and consultation mechanisms between civil society and national or local public institutions, as well as with donors
  • Joint activities with public institutions and parliamentary bodies
  • Supervision, coaching and support for the implementation of micro-projects at local level
  • Capacity building activities for the mobilisation of under-represented and/or marginalised groups…

  • This is an open call for proposals
  • Initial duration of the action: between 36 and 48 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal entity and be non-profit making
  • Be a Civil Society Organisation (CSO)
  • Be established in a Member State of the European Union or in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire for at least three years at the time of submission of the proposal
Financement
  • Amount of the grant: 3 million euro
  • Co-financing rate : 95% of the total eligible costs of the action
