Priorities and funded actions

Objective

Anti-Air Warfare (AAW) in the naval domain requires new technological developments to ensure lasting superiority at sea of EU naval surface vessels.

Priorities

Priority 1: To develop a full NCS capability allowing a better tactical situational awareness shared within a coalition, in terms of performances (e.g., coverage, robustness, accuracy of the information produced) and architecture resilience (e.g., degraded combat system, sensor failure, sensor jammed, loss of telecommunications)
Priority 2: To define an EU NCS protocol/interface standard for real time exchange of raw data originated from sensors (plot level), thus facilitating the AWW operations within a coalition of EU naval and air assets
Priority 3: To develop processing functions and algorithms to use the data exchanged through the protocol/interface standard

Among financed actions

Activities that aim to increase interoperability and resilience, including secured production and exchange of data, to master critical defence technologies, to strengthen the security of supply or to enable the effective exploitation of results for defence products and technologies
Studies, such as feasibility studies to explore the feasibility of new or upgraded products, technologies, processes, services and solutions
Design of a defence product, tangible or intangible component or technology as well as the definition of the technical specifications on which such a design has been developed, including any partial test for risk reduction in an industrial or representative environment
System prototyping of a defence product, tangible or intangible component or technology
Testing of a defence product, tangible or intangible component or technology
Qualification of a defence product, tangible or intangible component or technology
Certification of a defence product, tangible or intangible component or technology
Development of technologies or assets increasing efficiency across the life cycle of defence products and technologies

This call for proposals is an open call for proposals
Initial duration of the action: between 12 and 48 months

Eligibility

Be legal entities
Be established in one of the eligible countries
Proposals must be submitted by minimum 3 independent applicants (beneficiaries; not affiliated entities) from 3 different eligible countries

Financement

Total budget of the call: 510 million euro
Total budget of the topic «Naval Collaborative Surveillance» : 65 million euro
Co-financing rate: between 20% and 100% of the total eligible costs
