Actions must take place in Kosovo principally, however mobility of Kosovo researchers for internships or for participation in conferences, seminars or study visits can take place in in the EU.

Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To strengthen research and innovation capacity in support of the socio-economic development in Kosovo
  • To achieve a higher degree of internationalisation of research
  • To support the development of research-based learning and teaching, including transversal and entrepreneurship training at all levels
  • To support the research universities and public research institutes of Kosovo in order to strengthen the links between Academia and the private sector

Priorities

  • Priority 1: increase the quantity and quality of research performed by public Universities and public Research Institutes in Kosovo in the priority fields
  • Priority 2: consolidate and increase the collaboration between networks of Kosovo and European research institutions and researchers in  priority research fields
  • Priority 3: promote the collaboration between researchers from Kosovo with researchers from the EU both within same and across different disciplines
  • Priority fields are : environment, energy and natural resources, agricultural production and food safety; public health and medical research, or social science research

Among financed actions 

  • Pure and applied research in the priority fields
  • Development of partnerships and collaborative research between Kosovo public Universities and public research institutes in Kosovo with Universities and Research Institutes in the EU, EEA or countries covered by Article 19 of the IPA II
  • Research activities undertaken in accordance with EU standards in research

Additional information 

  • This call for proposals is an open call for proposals
  • Initial duration of the action: between 18 and 30 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person and be non-profit-making public entity
  • Be a research institution (including universities involved in research) established in a Member State of the European Union or in Kosovo
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 1 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: between 950,000 and 1 million euro
  • Co-financing rate: between 55% and 95% of the total eligible costs of the action
