Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To bring to mainstream markets and supermarkets food products that are new or highly improved at a nutritional/sustainable level
  • To increase the number of consumers using products developed with the support of EIT Food to personalize or change diet in line with relevant Food-Based Dietary Guidelines for Europe

 

Priorities

  • Priority 1 – Reduction in relative risk (R) of obesity & NonCommunicable Disease (NCD) prevalence in target populations due to known dietary factors
  • Priority 2 – Products on the market derived from alternative sources
  • Priority 3 – Reduction in food waste & food loss
  • Priority 4 – Improvement in food system contribution to outcomes under EU Circular Economy Monitoring Framework
  • Priority 5 – Improved environmental impact of agrifood systems

 

Among financed actions

  • Result in food products that are new or highly improved at a nutritional/sustainable level, (improved ingredients, packaging (with exception of changes in branding or packaging visuals), nutritional profile and labelling information, innovative features)
  • Help achieve EIT Food’s Missions: healthier lives through food, a net zero food system a fully transparent, fair and resilient food system

  • This call for proposals is an open call for proposals
  • Initial duration of the action: 36 months

 

Eligibility

  • Be a legal entity operating as retailers, supermarkets, convenience stores, delicatessen stores or hypermarkets
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 360.000 euro
  • Amount of the grant: up to 180.000 euro
  • Co-financing rate: between 30% and 70% of the total eligible costs
