Priorities and funded actions

Objective

To provide a desirable new solution (product/service/process) to address users’ needs that will lead to a viable business in the next 1-2 years; the focus is on breakthrough innovation (radical, disruptive or transformative) that has reached sufficient maturity and needs an extra push for the business to become reality

Priority 1 – Automation for human-centered factories

  • Augmented and virtual operator
  • Social and collaborative operator

  • Healthy and motivated operator

Priority 2 – Collaborative robots and solutions for flexible manufacturing

  • Cooperating robots
  • Cognitive machinery
  • Sensors and flexible tool
  • Advanced material processing

Priority 3 – Smart technologies for circular and green manufacturing

  • Manufacturing processes or sustainable materials to enhance the transition towards decarbonisation and/or a circular approach for manufacturing industries in compliance with the Green Deal strategy

Priority 4 – AI and digital twins for manufacturing systems

  • Equipment maintenance
  • Product design
  • Dynamic production planning and control
  • Inline quality check
  • Machine tending/supervising

Additional information

  • This call for proposals is a two stages call for proposals
  • Initial duration of the action: between 12 and 24 months
  • The starting point for the innovation activity proposal should be a technology at TRL 6 or higher

Eligibility

  • At least 50% of the participants should be EIT Manufacturing Partners (Members, LTPs, Activity Partners, contracted young companies by the date of the closing of the Call, i.e 29 April 2022)
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 1.5 million euro per year
  • Amount of the grant: 1.3 million euro (12 months) or 2 million euro (24 months)
  • Co-financing rate: up to 70% of the total eligible costs
