  • The supported projects are to be implemented in the three least developed regions in the country – NorthEast, Polog, SouthWest and Prespa area

Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  •  To strengthen the sustainable development of rural areas in North Macedonia
  • To modernise and optimise farming and forestry through provision of support to modernisation and innovative management in agricultural sector

Priorities

  • Priority 1: To promote innovative investment projects and business operations of entities active in agricultural,
    forestry and agri-food industry
  • Priority 2: To improve the competitiveness in the agricultural sector in North Macedonia by promoting
    cooperation between farmers in order to establish producers’ organizations, co-operatives etc including enhanced participation of youth and women in agricultural development

Among financed actions

  • Priority 1
    • Actions to promote the technological development and modernization of agricultural production and
      processing
    • Actions to promote the competitiveness of the agri-food sector by providing support for restructuring,
      development and innovation across a value chain
    • Actions to support the protection of the names of specific products in the country to promote their unique characteristics, linked to their geographical origin as well as traditional know-how
  • Priority 2
    • Actions to support to the establishment and operation of Producers Organizations, or associations of
      producer organisations (APOs), or inter-branch organisations or Agriculture co-operatives etc
    • Actions to support value chains and short value chains of agricultural products
    • Actions related to training to farmers, co-operatives etc. for the promotion of products with quality labels and geographical origin

Additional information

  • This call for proposals is a restricted call for proposals. In first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated
  • Initial duration of the action: between 12 and 24 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person and be non-profit-making
  • Be a specific type of organisation such as non-governmental organisations
  • Be established in the Republic of North Macedonia at least two years before the submission deadline for this call
Financement
  • Total amount of the call: 900,000 euro
  • Amout of the grant: between 400,000 and 450,000 euro
  • Co-financing rate: between 60% and 90%
