Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To contribute to the stabilisation of Lebanon through fostering social inclusion, cohesion and economic recovery
  • To provide responses to reduce social and political tensions and foster social cohesion within and among Lebanese communities, and collectively building a vision for a better Lebanon.
  • To mainstream social cohesion at community level through inclusive and participatory approaches to develop consensus building among Lebanese stakeholders from varied backgrounds into EU community-based development programmes.

Priorities

  • Priority 1: fostering social cohesion in Lebanon
  • Priority 2: reducing intra-communal tensions amongst Lebanese citizens and state actors
  • Priority 3: increasing the capacity of community or faith-based organisation and civil society organisation
  • Priority 4: supporting and enhancing the 3RF process
  • Priority 5: reviewing and engaging with on-going EU-supported local development projects contributing to provision of public goods and integrating social cohesion components

Among financed actions

  • Identification, promotion and implementation of bottom-up initiatives contributing to social cohesion and the steady reduction of intercommunal tensions
  • Creation of safe spaces for community dialogues to share and revisit the past, addressing trauma healing from the civil war and generating new ideas and a vision for the future of Lebanon with
    collective national identity
  • Organisation of group work by and among community citizens that reinforce shared identity across groups and enhance social responsibility through working toward the common good in the best interest of the society
  • Promotion and support to existing initiatives that increase collaboration between CSOs and local authorities to better serve the communities in which they work by providing efficient, effective and equitable services and public goods
  • Promotion of dialogue among different citizen groups at community level, including faith-based group

Additional information

  • This call for proposals is an open call for proposals
  • Initial duration of the action: between 36 and 42 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person and be non-profit-making
  • Be a specific type of organisation such as: non-governmental organisation and international (inter-governmental) organisation as defined by Article 156 of the EU Financial Regulation
  • Be established in a Member State of the European Union or established in Lebanon for at least 3 years prior to the publication of this Call under eligible NDICI regulations
Financement
  • Total amount of the call: 6 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: between 5.5 and 6 million euro
  • Co-financing rate: between 80% and 90% of the total eligible costs of the action
