Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

To reduce the risk of liver cancers associated with infections caused by the Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C viruses and the risk of gastric cancers caused by Helicobacter pylori.

Priorities

Priority 1: to support vaccination in case of Hepatitis B virus;
Priority 2: drug treatment in case of Hepatitis C virus and Helicobacter pylori;
Priority 3: to early detect infections and to reduce the risk of liver and gastric cancer.

Among financed actions

Actions targeted to support early identification of HBV and HCV asymptomatic infections, as well as early identification of Helicobacter pylori infections (symptomatic and asymptomatic);
Measures introduced to follow-up positive cases for HBV, HCV and Helicobacter pylori infections;
Dissemination activities.
