Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To promote food and nutrition security as well as food systems resilience in Rwanda
  • To promote sustainable food production of socially and environmentally inclusive agriculture value chains targeting local markets in Rwanda

Priorities

  • Priority 1: to promote actions aiming at enhancing food production and availability by Rwandan local producers and cooperatives, including women farmers and women cooperatives

Among financed actions

  • Activities enhancing agricultural inputs for local food productivity and availability in Rwanda
  • Activities promoting women access to agricultural inputs
  • Activities increasing added-value for local food production
  • Activities promoting innovative and sustainable approaches to boost food production in Rwanda
  • Activities promoting availability and access for men and women at local level to food that is safe and nutritious
  • Activities promoting enhanced access for men and women to markets
  • Activities promoting knowledge on nutritious food

Additional information

  • This call for proposals is a restricted call for proposals. In first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated
  • Initial duration of the action: between 36 and 48 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be non-profit making
  • Be a local authority or a CSO
  • Be established in one of the eligible countries
  • Be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the coapplicant and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary
  • Be registered for at least two years at the time of the submission of an application
  • Have an effective local presence in Rwanda, where the proposed action will take place
  • Entities from Member States are only eligible as co-applicants
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 10 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: between 500.000 and 700.000 euro
  • Co-financing rate: up to 80% of the total eligible costs
