For Lot 1: The action must be implement by covering a region comprising all the following countries: Mauritania, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Chad, Nigeria, Cameroon, Benin, Ghana, Togo, Côte d’Ivoire, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Senegal, Gambia, Cabo Verde (18 countries).

For Lot 2: Actions must take place in one or more of the following countries: Benin, Ghana, Togo, Côte d’Ivoire, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Senegal, Gambia, Cabo Verde

Priorities and funded actions

Objectives 
Lot 1 : 
*Supporting the setting up and development of a regional network of experts specialised in the prevention of conflicts and violent extremism, and in peace -building for We st Africa and the Lake Chad Basin.
Lot 2 : 
*Maximising media potential (traditional media, at community level, social media etc.) on conflict dynamics to help build and consolidate sustainable peace in the countries concerned.

Priorities 
Lot 1:
Priority 1: Supporting the setting up and development of a regional network of experts specialised in the prevention of conflicts and violent extremism, and in peace -building for We st Africa and the Lake Chad Basin
Priority 2 : Promoting the production of knowledge, scientific information, and debate within the network
Priority 3 : Promoting the dissemination of produced results within the network so as to exchange knowle dge and foster debate both among members and externally.
Priority 4: Developing exchanges of expertise related to this topic among professionals from West Africa and the Lake Chad Basin and European professionals.

Lot 2: 
Priority 1:  Strengthening the investigative and reporting capacity of journalists, editorial teams, social network managers etc
Priority 2:  Using media potential to support the mediation, dialogue and reconciliation processes.
Priority 3:  Promoting the counter-narrative and the positive campaigns to combat hate speech, incitement to violence and disinformation as well as support to existing media self-regulation structures and processes regarding non-violent language.
Priority 4: Supporting the exchange of experiences among the media in the various countries concerned by the project

Among financed actions
*the development of strategic, normative and work frameworks, guidelines, codes of conduct, methods, etc.;
*seminars and workshops to exchange experience and best practice, etc.
*training, coaching, support, activities, etc.
*provision or coordination of specific expertise
*networking, dialogue platforms, contact groups, etc.
*information and awareness campaigns
*financing audiovisual production and social media
*organising dialogues, debates, round tables, etc.
*lobbying relevant authorities
*research, analysis and specialised surveys
*support for initiatives or micro-projects
*supplying equipment or light infrastructure relating to the objectives of this call for proposals
*activities facilitating the sustainability of actions after the end of the project
*any other activity, if possible of an innovative nature, relating to the priorities of this call for proposals

Additional information:
* This call of proposals is an open call of proposals. 
* Initial duration of the action: 
Lot 1 : between 30 months and 36 months
Lot 2: between 24 months 36 months

Eligibilty:

*be a legal person
* be a non-profit organisation
* be a civil society actor as listed under Article 1.3 of Regulation (EU) No 230/2014
*be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the coapplicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary
For lot 1:
* be established in one of the 18 countries covered by this lot
For lot 2:
*be established in a Member State of the European Union or any other eligible country or territory as indicated in Regulation (EU) No 236/2014

Financement

* Grant Amount :
Lot 1: between 2.5 million euros and 3 million euros
Lot 2: between 750,000 euros and 1 million euros
* Co-financing rate :
Lot 1: between 70% and 90% of eligible costs
Lot 2: between 70% and 90 of eligible costs
