Actions or operations must have as final beneficiaries the population of the programme area. They must take
place in one or more of the following territorial units:

  • Kosovo: East Economic Region or South Economic Region
  • North Macedonia: Polog Region, Northeast Region or Skopje Region

Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • Foster co-operation among institutions and organization in the cross-border region in order to support sustainable economic growth and strengthen social cohesion including gender equality
  • Encouraging tourism and cultural and natural heritage
  • Protecting the environment, promoting climate change adaptation and mitigation, risk prevention and management

Priorities

  • Priority 1: Tourism potentials are enhanced and regional values further promoted, equally benefitting women and men (Thematic Priority II)
  • Priority 2: Joint efforts to address environmental pollution issues in the area are enhanced, equally benefitting women and men (Thematic Priority III)

Among financed actions

  • Priority 1
    • Design and development of joint tourism offers, products and services
    • Actions to encourage entrepreneurship and competitiveness in tourism sector, especially of women-led or –owned businesses
    • Actions seeking for synergies between recreation tourism, nature tourism, business and rural tourism…
  • Priority 2
    • Development of harmonised plans of actions to address soil contamination in a sustainable way
    • Development of joint design of plans and measures for improvement of the quality of water flows through protection of water from different sources of contamination
    • Small infrastructure works and procurement of equipment in the fields of solid waste and wastewater, sewage systems…

Additional information

  • This call for proposals is a restricted call for proposals. In first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated.
  • Initial duration of the action: between 12 and 24 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person, and be non-profit-making
  • Be effectively established in either Kosovo or North Macedonia
  • Be one of the following institutions or organisations:
    • Local authorities (municipalities)
    • National and regional centres for disaster management, national parks and monitoring and other public organisations for nature protection
    • Formal and public education and training institutions
    • Centres for development of planning regions (in North Macedonia)
    • Public central and local cultural institutions such as museums, libraries, institutions for protection of cultural heritage, etc.
    • Public enterprises as well as emergency services, such as fire/emergency services.
  • Please note that profit making organisations and political parties are not eligible, neither as lead applicants nor as co-applicants, nor as affiliated entities.
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 2.28 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: between 500,000 and 700,000 euro
  • Co-financing rate: between 60% and 85% of the total eligible costs of the action
