Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

To galvanize sustainable solutions for land restoration and drought resilience to restore soil health in Mediterranean drylands in collaboration with the EU Mission ‘A Soil Deal for Europe’

Priorities

  • Priority 1: To restore desertified landscapes: improve the functionality of ecosystems and landscapes, to continue providing ecosystem goods and services, and offer proven and cost-effective solutions for land restoration
  • Priority 2: To increase biodiversity, soil health, and food production
  • Priority 3: To decrease land degradation, to stabilize the surface of lands suitable for cultivation and other related ecosystem services
  • Priority 4: To contribute to improving employment, especially for women and youth

Among financed actions

  • Activities directly aiming at producing plans and arrangements or designs for new, altered or improved products, processes or services
  • A demonstration or pilot
  • A market replication
  • Projects may include limited research and development activities

Additional information

  • This call for proposals is an open call for proposals
  • Duration of the action: 36 months

Eligibility 

  • Be a legal entity
  • Be an international European interest organisation
  • A consortium composed of at least 4 entities, established in at least 3 different countries considered as PRIMA Participating States with: at least 1 must be established in an EU Member State or a third country associated with Horizon 2020 and not being an MPC and at least 2 must be established in third countriy/countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea
  • All four legal entities must be independent of each other
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 8.2 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: 4.1 million euro
