Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To promote human rights and democracy by improving the living conditions of people with disabilities
  • To support the actions of civil society organizations that contribute to the development of youth and to territorial development

Priorities

  • Priority 1: strengthen associations working for the well-being, rights, inclusion and participation in public life of people with disabilities in Algeria
    • Sub-priority 1: capacity building and funding for Algerian associations to increase the impact of their actions to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities
    • Sub-priority 2: capacity building and networking of Algerian associations in order to ensure the complementarity of their actions with the measures taken by the Algerian authorities and other stakeholders involved in favor of people with disabilities
  • Priority 2: support associations working to strengthen the democratic, active and participatory citizenship of young people, in particular through targeted actions that reduce marginalization and vulnerability among young people
    • Sub-priority 1: capacity building and funding for Algerian associations to increase the impact of their actions in support of youth participation, reduction of social evils and protection of particularly marginalized and vulnerable youth, such as people living with HIV and at risk of infection, drug users, etc.
    • Sub-priority 2: capacity building and networking of Algerian associations in order to ensure the complementarity of their actions with measures taken by the Algerian authorities and other actors involved in favor of youth
  • Priority 3: support associations working for local territorial development and environmental protection
    • Sub-priority 1: capacity building and funding of Algerian associations to support territorial development through participatory democracy and dialogue
    • Sub-priority 2: capacity building and financing of Algerian associations to respond to the increased needs of communities as a result of the challenges posed by climate change
  • Sub-priority 3 : Capacity building and networking of Algerian associations to ensure complementarity of their actions with measures taken by the Algerian authorities at the local level in terms of environmental protection and climate change mitigation and adaptation

Among financed actions

  • Support for the care of adolescents and adults with mental disabilities, cerebral palsy and autism
  • Actions aimed at promoting the social, economic and democratic inclusion of people with disabilities
  • Strengthening psychological support for parents of children/adolescents/adults with disabilities
  • Support for project incubators and the creation of think tanks for young people
  • Actions to support research on the habits of young people, particularly with regard to risk behaviors
  • Promotion of activities in the prison environment
  • Actions aimed at strengthening participatory consultation bodies for territorial development actors
  • Actions aimed at the development of diagnostic systems to define the needs, perspectives and expectations at territorial level and to share them in a concrete, inclusive and participatory way
  • Actions aimed at protecting the environment, improving adaptation and resilience of populations affected by climate change

Additional information

  • This call for proposals is a restricted call for proposals. In first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated.
  • Initial duration of the action: between 24 and 36 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal entity
  • Be a non-profit organization
  • Be a civil society organization (NGO, association)
  • Be established for at least two years
  • Be established in one of the eligible countries
  • Be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action
Financement
  • Total budget of the topic: 2,7 million euro
  • Amount of the grant:
    • Lot 1: between 250 000 and 500 000 euro
    • Lot 2: between 350,000 and 700,000 euro
    • Lot 3: between 350 000 and 750 000 euro
  • Co-financing rate: up to 90% of total eligible costs
