Priorities and funded actions

Objective

To contribute to the empowerment of youth in Africa and to strengthen their involvement in active, meaningful and innovative ways.

Priorities

  • Priority  1: AU-EU Youth Voices Lab
    • Sub-priority 1: To ensure that policy-making and decision-making processes around the Africa-EU Partnership are more youth responsive and inclusive and that youth participation and representation is stronger
    • Sub-priority 2: To enhance the capacity of young people, youth organisations and key stakeholders active around the AU-EU partnership to advocate for young people’s concerns and priorities at cross-continental, continental, regional and national levels
  • Priority 2: AU-EU Youth Action Lab
    • Sub-priority 1: To create joint African-European youth-led cooperation activities that pursue long term impact and positive change

Among financed actions

  • Map and establish a virtual network of youth organisations, youth movements, key stakeholders and policy-makers at continental, regional and national levels involved in key Africa-EU priorities
  • Set-up a steering mechanism involving youth organisations.
  • Develop Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and organise trainings on relevant topics and skills to facilitate the participation of young people and youth organisations from Africa, Europe and the Diaspora in the Africa-EU partnership
  • Organise trainings of trainers for representatives of youth organisations and other key stakeholders to facilitate youth engagement activities at local, national and regional levels
  • Ensure adequate communication and dissemination

Additional information

  • This call for proposals is a restricted call for proposals. In first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated.
  • Initial duration of the action: between 42 and 48 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be a non-profit making entity
  • Be a specific type of organisation: non-governmental organisation, public sector operator, international (inter-governmental) organisation
Financement
  • Total burget of the call: 13 million euro
    • Lot 1 AU-EU Youth Voices Lab: 7 million euro
    • Lot 2 AU-EU Youth Action Lab: 6 million euro
  • Amount of the grant:
    • Lot 1 AU-EU Youth Voices Lab: between 6.8 and 7 million euro
    • Lot 2 AU-EU Youth Action Lab: between 5.8 and 6 million euro
  • Co-financing rate: between 60 and 95% of the total eligible costs
