Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To contribute to the human development of the population of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), through the strengthening of the education system
  • To improve access to and completion of primary education for vulnerable children (girls and boys), particularly those affected by population displacement, in crisis areas
  • Improve and adapt the quality of education and school practices to the crisis context
  • Promote the social and economic inclusion of adolescent girls and boys affected by the crises

Priorities

  • Priority 1 – access to safe, quality learning that meets health, safety and security standards and is inclusive
  • Priority 2 – retention of children in school, especially girls
  • Priority 3 – educational provision for displaced and drop-out children
  • Priority 4 – referral and identification of vulnerable children within schools
  • Priority 5 – strengthening the skills and know-how of education actors
  • Priority 6 – provision of educational materials
  • Priority 7 – access to vocational training for adolescents

Among financed actions

  • Actions consisting solely or mainly of sponsoring the participation of individuals in workshops, seminars, conferences and congresses
  • Actions consisting solely or principally of funding individual study or training grants

Additional information

  • This call for proposals is an open call for proposals
  • Initial duration of the action: between 36 and 48 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be non-profit making
  • Be established in a Member State of the European Union
  • Have already managed at least one project in the education sector in the DRC
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 9 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: between 4 million and 4.5 million euro
  • Co-financing rate: between 75% and 95% of the total eligible costs
