Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To strengthen CSOs as independent actors of good governance and development in their own right
  • To strengthen capacity of local CSOs to engage in youth inclusion and empowerment, gender equality and women empowerment, media literacy, environment and climate change
  • To strengthen capacities of local CSOs to engage in policy dialogue at national level and in dialogue, implementation and monitoring of national development programmes and plans
  • To increase the capacity of civil society organisations to perform their role as independent development actors more effectively and to enhance efforts to promote a conducive environment for CSOs

Priorities

  • Priority 1: Democratic Governance
  • Priority 2: Green Deal
  • Priority 3: Sustainable economic growth and jobs
  • Priority 4: Empowerment of women and youth
  • Priority 5: Mass media and journalism

Among financed actions

  • Promoting the involvement of local stakeholders in climate action (“think global, act local”) including in the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy;
  • Enabling the transition to a climate-resilient, low-emissions, circular economy through i.a. resource efficiency and sustainable consumption and production, including the sustainable management of chemicals and waste
  • Organisation of discussion fora to improve dialogue and networking between civil society organisations, media and decision-makers on the issues and priorities of this call for proposals

Additiona information

  • This call for proposals is a restricted call for proposals. In first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated.
  • Initial duration of the action: between 24 and 36 monhs

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be a non-profit making entity
  • Be a specific type of organisation such as: Non-profit making CSOs and/or their associations
  • Be established in Uzbekistan or a Member State of the European Union or in countries as stipulated in the basic act NDICI-GE
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 3.468 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: between 300.000 and 400.000 euros
  • Cofinancing rate: Between 50% and 95% of the total eligible costs
