Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To reduce Haiti’s vulnerability to the impacts of climate change
  • To strength the resilience of communities in rural and urban coastal areas to the effects of climate change

Priorities

  • Priority 1 – Development of agricultural practices and techniques to make local communities more resilient to the effects of CC
  • Priority 2 – Integrated management of natural resources in targeted geographical areas and the promotion and implementation of nature-based solutions
  • Priority 3 – Development and greater penetration of renewable energies at local level

Among financed actions

  • Restoring fragile or strategic ecosystems and conserving blue carbon
  • Integrated management of natural resources
  • Climate-smart agriculture
  • Energy efficiency and clean energy for cooking in vulnerable communities
  • Developing the blue economy and creating green jobs
  • Setting up grey infrastructure for the adaptation of coastal zones

Additional information

  • This call for proposals is a restricted call for proposals. In first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated.
  • Initial duration of the action : between 22 and 24 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal entity
  • Be non-profit-making
  • Be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and the affiliated entity/entities, and not act as an intermediary
  • Have carried out at least one project/programme of a scale equivalent to the grant requested during the 5 years preceding the date of submission of the full application
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 4.3 million euro
  • Total budget of the topic:
    • Lot 1: 3.2 million euro
    • Lot 2: 1.1 million euro
  • Amount of the grant :
    • Lot 1: between 500,000 and 1.6 million euro
    • Lot 2: between 500,000 and 1.1 million euro
  • Co-financing rate: between 75% and 90% of total eligible costs
