Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To  attain two of the strategic priorities for EU action on protecting and promoting human rights and supporting democracy in line with the EU Human Rights and Democracy Country strategy for Nigeria adopted in 2021
  • To contribute to an inclusive, participatory, empowered, and independent civil society and democratic space in Nigeria; and an inclusive and open dialogue with and between Civil Society Organisations.

  • Lot 2: Promotion of Digital Rights
  • Lot 3: Digital Skills
  • Lot 4: Education
  • L0t 5: Climate Change

  • Actions that will support the achievement of the  objectives of this call for proposals
  • Actions that will promote the increased participation of women, youth, people with disabilities, internally displaced persons, and other vulnerable groups

Additional information

  • This call for proposals is a restricted call for proposals. In first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated.
  • Initial duration of the action: between 24 and 36 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be non-profit-making organisation
  • Be a specific type of organisation such as: non-governmental organisation, public sector operator, local authority, international (inter-governmental) organisation as defined by Article 156 of the EU Financial Regulation
  • Be established in Nigeria or a Member State of the European Union. This obligation does not apply to international organisations.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years documented experience implementing projects in particular priority areas of the call for proposal
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 5.5 million euro
    • Lot 1: 750 000
    • Lot 2: 750 000
    • Lot 3: 1.5 million euro
    • Lot 4: 1.5 million euro
    • Lot 5: 1 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: between 400 000 and 750 000 euro
  • Co-financing rate:  between 50% and 95% of the total eligible costs
