Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To contribute to the development of a green, environmentally sustainable and socially inclusive post COVID-19 economy through the enhanced implementation of Jordan’s green growth strategy and action plan
  • To enhance coordination and sustainable resource management in the energy, water and agriculture sectors (nexus)
  • To enhance circular economy practices within resource efficiency and solid waste management with links to local development

Priorities

  • Priority 1: To demonstrate, on real cases, the technical and economic feasibility of green economy/growth projects, focusing on green innovation via efficient use of resources, with a NEXUS approach, waste management transition, and enhanced green jobs within a circular economy approach
  • Priority 2: To contribute to the implementation of full scale activities in order to induce behavioural changes and adoption of best available technologies and practices for green economy/growth
  • Priority 3: To foster investments towards circular economy,while integrating regulations and standards, relying on R&D, information and public awareness, training and monitoring
  • Priority 4: To promote benefits, replicability and sustainability of new green technical solutions, which can further strengthen Jordan’s drive to promote the concept of Green Economy

  • Studies and design
  • Pilot green innovative projects in the relevant sectors and themes referred above
  • Locally based green solutions
  • Training activities to the extent needed for the proper operation of the installed facilities

Additional information

  • This call for proposals is a restricted call for proposals. In first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated.
  • Initial duration of the action: between 24 and 30 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be a specific type of organisation such as: non-governmental organisation, public sector operator, municipalities, Small and Medium Size Enterprises SMEs, Academic Institutions, international (inter-governmental) organisation as defined by Article 156 of the EU Financial Regulation
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 5 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: between 1.25 and 2.5 million euro
  • Co-financing rate: between 80% and 90% of the total eligible costs
