Country eligible to the programme:

  • Malawi
  • Actions must take place in two or more of the following districts; Nsanje, Thyolo, Mulanje, Machinga, Zomba, Chiradzulu, Phalombe, Ntcheu, Balaka, Mangochi and Dedza

Priorities and funded actions

Objective

  • To promote and protect the social and economic rights of persons with albinism

Among financed actions

  • Advocacy and awareness raising among Persons with Albinism, surrounding communities and key local and national stakeholders regarding human rights, international law standards and key responsibilities of duty bearers to enforce, promote and protect these rights
  • Networking with relevant Government agencies i.e. the Ministry of Gender, Ministry of Justice, Police, Judiciary and Civil Society Organisations to influence effective coordination and collaboration of initiatives relating to protection and promotion of rights of persons with albinism
  • Tracking progress of legal cases and creating awareness around their conclusion

  • This call for proposals is an open call for proposals
  • Initial duration of the action: between 24 and 36 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be a non-profit-making entity
  • Be a civil society organization or an Associate of CSOs and specific type of organization
Financement
  • Amount of the grant: between 140,000 and 350,000 euro
  • Co-financing rate: between 80 and 95% of the total eligible costs
