Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To promote sustainable forest management and wood-fuel production in rural areas with an overall aim of enhancing environmental sustainability, in particular the sustainability of the wood-fuel value chain

Priorities

  • Priority 1 –  Protection of village forest land and land use planning
  • Priority 2 – Formalisation of the charcoal value chain
  • Priority 3 – Sustainable forest management

  • Sustainable forest management practices
  • Policy and behavioral changes
  • Multi-sectoral integrated approaches
  • Livelihoods and sustainable land use in village and central forest land
  • Collaboration between NGOs and government institutions
  • Clear outcomes
  • Support gender mainstreaming in the wood-fuel
  • Support improved institutional capacities of the Tanzania Forest Services Agency
  • Improve tracking and traceability of the movement of forest products
  • Strengthening of forest extension services on existing laws, regulations, rights and responsibilities
  • Coordination and collaboration among government entities responsible for forest management including Tanzania Forest Services agency

  • This call for proposals is an open call for proposals.
  • Initial duration of the action: between 30 and 36 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be non-profit-making
  • Be a specific type of organisation such as: non-governmental organisation
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 10.5 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: between 1.5 and 2.5 million euro
  • Co-financing rate: up to 90% of the total eligible costs
