Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To strengthen CSOs as independent actors for good governance and development that contribute to the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, democracy and the rule of law
  • To contribute to an inclusive, participatory, and independent civil society and democratic space that allows for open dialogue with and among CSOs

Priorities

Lot 1 – Civil society organisations thematic programme

  • Priority 1: To promote, with an emphasis on gender equality, an enabling environment and build the capacity of CSOs working to protect the marine and coastal ecosystem
  • Priority 2: to strengthen the capacities of civil society and promote an enabling environment for CSOs working to protect and promote the rights and development of children, adolescents and young people

Lot 2 – Human rights and democracy

  • Priority 1: Carry out concrete actions of dialogue, design, implementation, monitoring and/or capacity building regarding public policies and practices, legal frameworks and mechanisms of control, investigation and sanction, at local and national levels, in relation to transparency, accountability and the fight against impunity, including in relation to public expenditure and investment and budget transparency

Among financed actions

  • Contribute to the definition, implementation and monitoring of public policies and programmes, institutional practices and community actions related to the thematic priorities of Lot 1
  • Developing, promoting and consolidating networks, platforms or other mechanisms for coordination and collaboration between CSOs
  • Support for pilot initiatives to promote and study access to information on public policies and to ensure effective monitoring and control of state powers

  • This call for proposals is an open call for proposals.
  • Initial duration of the action: between 24 and 36 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be a not-for-profit entity
  • Be a civil society organisation that operates independently and responsibly
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 1.2 million euro
    • Lot 1: 973.000 euro
    • Lot 2: 300.000 euro
  • Amount of grant:
    • Lot 1: between 400.000 and 600.000 euro
    • Lot 2: 300.000 euro
  • Co-financing rate: between 60% and 90% of total eligible costs
