Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To strengthen CSOs as independent actors for good governance and development
  • LOT 1 – Youth and Women: To strengthen CSOs working for the inclusion of vulnerable and marginalised groups, with a focus on youth and women
  • LOT 2 – Human Development: Green and Inclusive Economy; Good Governance and Stability: To strengthen CSOs active in the priority sectors of the EU Delegation’s MIP 2021-2027 to become independent actors of good governance and development

Priorities

LOT 1 – Youth and Women

  • Priority 1: To strengthen the technical capacities of CSOs working to promote the economic, social and cultural rights of young people and women
  • Priority 2: To launch, contribute to and support policy dialogues on youth and women and enable the active participation of youth and women’s organisations in decision-making processes at all levels in order to better address their vulnerabilities
  • Priority 3: To support actions that ensure the integration of young people and women and encourage active citizenship

LOT 2 – Human Development

  • Priority 1: To promote an inclusive, participatory, empowered and independent civil society as a stakeholder in socio-economic development in Guinea-Bissau
  • Priority 2: To promote an inclusive and open dialogue with and between civil society organisations, including through support to existing networks / platforms of organisations, and more permanent collaboration between CSOs and the authorities at all levels
  • Priority 3: To enable key CSOs to develop their capacities and skills as actors in governance and development development in the European Union’s priority sectors in Guinea-Bissau, with a special focus on youth and women

Among financed actions

  • Creation of exchange and networking opportunities to facilitate the role of civil society in promoting, advocating and organising impact activities, in line with the priorities of this call (3 priorities of Lot 1 and 3 priorities of Lot 2)
  • Activities enabling the participation of community-based organisations in policy dialogue and decision-making processes at all levels
  • Support to local actors
  • Policy research, shadow reports, gap and needs analyses, opinion surveys, monitoring and surveillance activities
  • Knowledge management
  • Monitoring and evaluation
  • Activities supporting greater engagement between CSOs and public authorities

Additional information

  • This call for proposals is a restricted call for proposals. In first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated.
  • Initial duration of the action: between 24 and 48 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal entity
  • Be a not-for-profit entity
  • Be a specific type of organisation, such as a non-governmental organisation, public sector operator or local authority
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 3 million euro
    • LOT 1: 1 million euro
    • LOT 2: 2 million euro
  • Amount of the grant:
    • LOT 1: between 750.000 and 1 million euro
    • LOT 2: between 1 and 2 million euro
  • Cofinancing rate: between 50 and 95% of the total eligible costs
