Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To promote and protect of human rights and fundamental freedoms
  • To protect and empower individuals: to contribute to the full enjoyment of all aspects of human rights, be they civil, political and economic rights
  • To safeguard fundamental freedoms in the digital sphere, including harnessing the opportunities and addressing the challenges of new technologies: to create and maintain an environment conducive to the full exercise of all fundamental freedoms, online and offline

Priorities

  • Priority 1: Strengthened capacities of civil society, including in advocacy and raising public awareness. Support to resilience of human rights defenders, including legal safeguards for their effective functioning and capacity building
  • Prioirity 2: Enhanced capacities of civil society in reinforcing gender equality, women empowerment and combating violence against women
  • Priority 3: Strengthened youth role and participation in promoting democratic governance through digital and media enablers and capabilities

Additional information

  • This call for proposals is a restricted call for proposals. In first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated.
  • Initial duration of the action: between 24 and 36 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be a non-profit-making entity
  • Be a specific type of organisation such as: non-governmental organisation (international organisations are ineligible)
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 2.34 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: between 500.000 and 1 million euro
  • Co-financing rate: between 90 and 95% of the total eligible costs
