Objectives

To create a secure and trusted online environment for EU citizens
To set up and/or develop European media platforms that improve citizens’ access to trusted information from across the EU
To produce and/or share news content and factual programming across borders in as many European languages as possible

Priorities

Priority 1: Technical and editorial arrangements
Priority 2: Content offer and engagement

Among financed actions

Creation, maintenance and enhancement of European media platforms, websites and delivery systems
Content handling (mainly journalistic content) and factual programming across Europe feeding the said platforms, including production, curation, translation, etc
Coordination tasks, governance, management, technical and editorial workflows, staff, resources
Advertising, promotion, awareness and dissemination actions
Data studies and research directly related to the editorial needs, technical components and audience measurements

Eligibility

Be legal entities (public or private bodies)
Be established in one of the EU Member States
Be a News media organisation, a Media technology developer, another organisation active in the media domain
Proposals must be submitted by a consortium of at least 5 applicants including news media organisations from at least 5 different EU Member States
Other entities may participate in other consortium roles: International organisations, entities without legal personality, affiliated entitie

Financement

Total budget of the call: 6 million euro
Amount of the grant : 2,5 million euro
Co-financing rate: up to rate to 80% of the total eligible costs
