Priorities and funded actions

Objective

To support EU stakeholders (single or multistakeholders) in taking actions to address consumer food waste.

Priorities

  • Priority 1: To carry out an initial food waste diagnosis to understand the extent of the issue and to identify the “hotspots” needing specific action
  • Priority 2: To set food waste reduction targets with reference to a specific baseline
  • Priority 3: To develop and  implement actions to tackle the hotspots identified during the initial food waste diagnosis
  • Priority 4: To carry out a final evaluation at the end of the project, in order to understand the results achieved by implementing the actions

  • Awareness raising campaigns
  • Measurement and reporting tools and solutions for preventing food waste at consumption level
  • Studies, data collection and experimental actions widening the evidence base for consumer food waste prevention interventions

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be a public or private entity
  • Be established in an EU Member State (including overseas countries and territories)

  • Initial duration of the action: between 18 and 24 months

  • Total budget of the call: 4 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: between 100.000 and 300.000 euro
  • Funding rate: up to 50% of the total eligible costs
