Objectives
- To improve information services and helpdesk to SMEs on new business opportunities in China
- To develop awareness and knowledge of EU SMEs on China’s large and complex market
- To larger access of SMEs to publications, webinars and trainings on how to develop business in China
Priorities
Priority 1 – Improve the access of European SMEs to the Chinese market by providing them with a first line and comprehensive range of hands-on support services (publications, practical training, ask-the-expert service, webinars…) getting them ready to do business in China.
Priority 2 – Strengthen the coordination of China-based support actions for SMEs put in place by EU’s and SMP COSME associated countries’ organisations through better coordination with similar actions in China and in the EU / SMP COSME associated countries.
Among financed actions
- Assess European SMEs’ readiness towards establishing and developing their commercial presence in the Chinese market (through exports and/or investments) by providing EU added-value support services
- Improve synergies with other EU projects and best practice sharing at the European, national and regional EU business association levels, with the ultimate goal to support European business advocacy in China and benefit EU SMEs that intend to do business in China
- Provide SMEs through an online platform with an access to
- relevant publications giving practical advice on how to develop their presence on the Chinese market
- an ‘ask-the-expert service’ providing a first line of answer to more specific questions (legal, standardisation and distribution issues, notably through e-commerce…)

- This call for proposals is an open call for proposals
- Initial duration of the action: 36 months
Eligibility
- Be legal entities (public or private bodies)
- Be:
- business support organisations and/or trade promotion organisations representing groups of companies from EU Member States and SMP COSME associated countries, including Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), and/or business economic interests of EU or SMP COSME associated countries and offering in the first instance non-individualised services for promoting trade and investment between Europe and China
- a company specialised in communication and/or training activities addressed to SMEs with proven transnational experience
- Proposals must be submitted by a consortium of at least four applicants, where minimum one entity is established in the EU and minimum two entities are established in China
