Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To contribute to promote and protect human rights and fundamental freedoms, democracy and the rule of law worldwide

Priorities

  • Prirority 1: strengthened evidence-based advocacy to safeguard respect for human rights and freedoms in Uganda
  • Priority 2: reduction of child labour in Uganda through strengthened civil society action

Among financed actions

  • Monitoring, research, reporting and advocacy to safeguard human rights in Uganda
  • Provision of direct support to individual victims, including provision of medical, psycho-social and legal support
  • Civil society dialogue and engagement with national institutions on human rights issues
  • Building partnerships with commercial farmers and other businesses to prevent and reduce child labour
  • Business and community sensitisation towards change of attitudes, beliefs, values and negative practices affecting children

Additional information

  • This call for proposals is a restricted call for proposals. In first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated
  • Initial duration of the action: between 24 and 36 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be non-profit-making
  • Be established in Uganda, or in any country
  • Wheter the lead applicant is not established in Uganda, it must act with minimum one co-applicant established inUganda
  • Be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action
Financement
  • Total budget of the call:
    • Lot 1: 1,530,000 euro
    • Lot 2: 2 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: between 400 00 and 600 000 euro
  • Co-financing rate: between 50% and 95% of the total eligible costs
