An EU-funded project “BeyondSeq” is developping a technology to detect cancer in single DNA molecule thanks to Horizon 2020 funding programme. The technology could be commercialised and ready for use by doctors within a few years, with diagnostic hardware for clinical devices already under development.

Indeed, the consurtium (Israel, Sweden, France, UK, Belgium) coordinated by Israel is developping a novel approach to analysing DNA for signs of mutation and disease and it is leading to highly accurate tests for early-stage cancer, antibiotic resistance and genetic disorders, potentially revolutionising diagnostic medicine.
