Thanks to the ERDF and the Cohesion Funds, the EU can support the construction of road infrastructures in Poland.
More than 255 million euro from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) will be invested in the construction of a motorway section between the cities of Nowe Marzy, Świecie and Bydgoszcz, located in the central northern part of Poland, along with the S5 motorway.
In addition, 64.6 million euro from the Cohesion Fund will allow the construction of a section of motorway between the junctions of Zakręt and Lubelska on the S17 express road linking Warsaw to Garwolin. Work on both projects is expected to be completed in 2020.
European investments on these two roads have already been made: on the S5 motorway – a central element of the TEN-T trans-European transport network – the European Union has already invested more than 740 million euro for the period 2014-2020.
