Heads of States of Europe and the European Institutions, representatives of public employment institutions and social partners today in Paris, at the High level Conference of Youth Employment in Europe, share best practices on how to address the problem of Youth employment in Member States.

Youth unemployment level in Lithuania remains high, though recently it has decreased and shifted closer to the EU average. According to the Minister, it is not enough to have short-time measures to solve youth unemployment problem, therefore, Lithuania has foreseen to complete the preparation of implementation plan for the youth guarantees initiative and to start implement it in the nearest future.

According to the Minister, it is also very important to pursue early social inclusion of young people focusing on youth that is not in education, employment or training. After a few weeks at the Youth Council it is scheduled to adopt conclusions of the Council on improving the social inclusion of these young people.

The Minister also pointed out that, in addressing the problems of young people, a very important role is played by employment services, so it is very important in the nearest EU Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council to agree on the improvement of these services.

Special attention in the European Conference on youth employment is given to the way in which each Member State adopts the measures which provide possibility for those who are not in education, employment or training to return to work or study – youth guarantees, help in establishing business, support to mobility, learning, the development of practical training and others.
